Make This New Year Your Best Year Yet

While giving New Year advance wishes is important, so is making a New Year’s resolution. This is a custom that millions follow every. Studies have shown that less than 20% of resolutions are followed strictly, and then for only a restricted time. But, making a resolution for yourself is tough. Here are some points that can make your New Year the best to date.

Self-Evaluation Is Your Ego Hunting You

To start, identify that the voice within you that demoralizes you is deception. It is pretending to be real, pretending to be god, but in fact, that self-critical voice is just a part of your ego. It is not the answer to your problems but the source to them. Its judgments are not real.

Know That Only The Present Moment Is Real

You will be free of all self-judgment if you live in the present. The past will no longer haunt you and avoid you from experiencing the life.

This is being awake, being mindful, or just being present. But the mind is a creature of routine. When your mind relapses into conditioning and habits, the current moment is vanished. There is only a current moment if you are living it. So the trick is to get up when you feel that you are not actually present. Knowing you are not present has to take place spontaneously and naturally. A sign to wake up naturally is shown to you each morning. You are unconscious while asleep lying in bed. Then there is a drowsy zone where sleeping and waking are merged, followed by the mind knowing that it is time to get up.

Practice Affirmations

To accept this to daily life, just begin noticing when you have an off-putting thought. As you have seen, off-putting thoughts are hunters from past. When such a thought pops up, use positive thoughts.

Mother’s Day Confusion Resolved By Cedarburg Elementary School

An email received by the parents of children studying at Parkview Elementary School appeared to be a Mother's Day misunderstanding. After receiving the mail from the school, some parents thought that the school was about to cancel celebrations. Jayne Holck, Principal, Parkview Elementary School, said that the parents were worried if the school was replacing the Mother's Day celebration. She added that the school certainly had no intent to replace or to not honor mothers.

The email stated that the school considers that it would be more applicable to make the celebration more inclusive. It added that during next week students will prepare gifts to demonstrate their appreciation to those who influence their lives in a constructive way. The intention was to be sensitive to students affected by the loss of a parental figure. Principal Holck stated that the school’s 4th-grade teachers were showing empathy and sympathy to all students in the classroom.

This week, for Mother's Day celebration, the school initiated an activity named “Muffins with Moms.” The children as well will prepare cards. In addition to the celebrations this week, the school is supposed to have a full week of activities later in May 2019 for kids. In this week, they will celebrate anyone who influences their life positively.

"Maybe they don't have a parent or a typical family in their life right now that they can address that gift to -- whoever it is that's in that role," Holck said. Additionally, officers with the Cedarburg School District proclaimed that they are planning to reassess messages adjoining celebrations to ensure that the meaning is clear. This was said to be the 3rd year the school sent an email. The Parkview principal proclaimed that a few parents were concerned until it was clarified. At the same time, others were thankful that the school sent an email.
